The location and identification of underground services is essential before undertaking any sort of excavation work on a construction site – or for that matter any other site where digging is involved. Becoming a top-level surveyor able to undertake such work requires thorough training and the achievement of qualifications.
More and more sites today are requiring such qualifications before they will allow such a surveyor on one of their sites. These include HS2, National Rail, and Heathrow Airport just to begin with. At Sygma Solutions we can provide the training that you need on our Underground Surveyor Course in order to achieve a Level 5 QCF Diploma Senior Utilities Surveyor Qualification which will enable you to work on any site requiring such a standard. This will allow you to undertake PAS128 Quality Level B surveys.
In order to obtain entry to the level 5 syllabus, you will already need to have the Level 3 Utility Surveyor Qualification. We can provide you with this training first, if you have not yet achieved it.
The Level 5 course can be undertaken at our training centre in Wigan, at The Survey School in Worcester, or if you prefer, on your own site. Training undertaken for the Level 5 Diploma is intensive and follows the full life cycle of a Utilities Mapping and Detection Survey.
The Level 5 Underground Surveyor course that we provide will depend upon the experience and knowledge of the individual, but the good news is that we will tailor the course for you to your particular requirements and your present achievements. To achieve the Level 5 Qualification, the course is split into six units all of which need to be successfully completed and assessed. We will be happy to meet with you in order to fully comprehend your needs.

Of course, all of our training courses have classroom elements in order to fully understand the basics, and these are followed up with rigorous on-site practice in order that each operative will have complete confidence in undertaking surveys. The CAT and Genny do have certain limitations, so it is vital that every individual is fully cognisant of these and understands what to do if there is any doubt in a given situation.
