Underground service detection was much simpler 30-40 years ago when there was simply less to detect and therefore less potential causes of strikes while workers carried out excavation work.
An underground service strike can lead to injury or loss of life, while the financial consequences can also be substantial.
To help minimise this risk, the cable avoidance industry has evolved over the years with new technology and processes to improve how underground cables are detected.
Today we are well into the 21st century and when it comes to the location of underground services, we have the use of some very clever tools in the CAT and Genny.
