EUSR is an independent skills platform which provides standards for the utility sector and is operated by the governing body for the gas, power and waste management industries.

While there are other similar bodies that exist, EUSR and its professional qualifications are widely recognised in the UK, and EUSR Cat and Genny course are one of the best ways for operatives in the sector to prove they have the skills and knowledge to operate safely and effectively.

Why EUSR Training?

Ultimately, EUSR training is designed to support industry employers and add value to the sector by improving working practices and reducing accidents from taking place. As cable strikes and the various dangers they present have received increased awareness in recent years, so too has EUSR become more popular as the industry standard for quality and safety.

Individuals who qualify for registration with EUSR are issued with a card and will appear on the EUSR website. This is beneficial for employers who are more easily able to understand the competency of their crew, while it helps individual employees prove that they are sufficiently trained to handle various tasks and roles within the sector.

By benchmarking skills and utilising the latest technology, course providers like Sygma Solutions provide a way to improve the industry skills of individuals and helps to sustain higher standards for the whole sector. It does this by training a body of workers with highly transferable skills and credentials that can be a vital resource for the UK, across countless utility projects and excavation assignments.

Why Is a EUSR Card Beneficial?

A EUSR card proves that an individual has taken a course and passed it. This gives employers a transparent way of verifying the abilities of their workers so that they don’t have to take a chance when issuing assignments to their employees, whether that’s cable excavation or detection. Equally, employees will have a nationally recognised way to demonstrate their skills and experience to any potential employers.

What Does the Course Cover?

The course plays a vital role in delivering the training and development needs of the power sector and teaches operatives to correctly identify ad avoid underground utilities. The course’s main objectives are to improve the quality and consistency of training and deliver a sustainable and flexible body of operatives in the nation that can be efficient and safe within any excavation or underground infrastructure project.

What is a EUSR Card?

A EUSR card is usually held by those who work with gas, power and water. When you obtain the card, EUSR will assign you to the Energy and Utility Skills Register and by having your details here, your current and future employers will be able to view your qualifications easily.

Course Overview
